On June 2, 2021, CLE is offering a free course called Confronting Racism in the Criminal Justice System. This is an important course that is open to anyone interested in improving the criminal justice system.
It will include a deeper dive into how racism, systemic racism and unconscious bias impact the criminal justice system at every level, from charge approval to sentencing.
It is incredibly crucial for counsel to understand their position of privilege and ensure that the disproportionate effect that systemic racism has on members of the BIPOC community is mitigated.
